Since the 1980’s, Malaysia has one of the fastest growing industrial developments in Asia. The corner stone of the political direction in Malaysia has been to encourage privatisation and direct foreign investments in every economic sector. Nowadays, Malaysia has become the biggest microchip exporter in the world and its per capita income has doubled during the period from 1987 to 2001.
