Prof. Dr. jur. Heinz Albert Friehe, Attorney at Law, Salzgitter, has gathered vast experience concerning business law in the legal departments of business enterprises. One of the focal points of his work is the UN-Standard Law on Sales since it entered into force for the Federal Republic of Germany on January 1, 1991. He encountered it for the first time during the legal counselling of a reputable large enterprise in Lower Saxony. In numerous introductory lectures and two-day seminars, he has familiarized experts in the field of commercial activity in business enterprises with it due to the fact that a successful centering of the CISG in the economy - next to and with the Civil Code/Commercial Code - depends decisively on this work on location. In his capacity as a university professor, which began at a University of Applied Sciences in Saxony in 1993, the CISG was repeatedly the topic of his classes. His scientific interests are currently focused on a presentation of the CISG with a comparative legal view of the domestic law on sales according to Civil Code/Commercial Code. The background for this is the experience that many companies apply both codes.
